The Simple Coffee story began in late 2013 from a small apartment in Bangkok, Thailand. Jason Weimer, founder, begain selling fresh roasted wholebean coffee through a simple online storefront. Many of these early days were spent developing the local market and scouting out and discovering high quality Arabica coffee from the north of Thailand. By the spring of 2014, our flagship coffee shop opened it’s doors in a modest 35 square meter space next to one of Bangkok’s largest international schools. The coffee shop quickly became a gathering space for parents, friends and students, all coming together to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.
In 2015, we expanded Simple Coffee to another coffee producing country, Vietnam. Michael Beard, partner, helped open our Hanoi market with wholesale and retail operations keeping our commitment to developeing our direct trade relationships with local producers. Then in 2017, Julie Schumacher, partner, joined the team helping to expand the size and operations of our Bangkok shop and menu. Now, 2018 sees Simple Coffee opening its second coffee shop branch in Hanoi, Vietnam becoming a multi-branch international coffee company.
Simple, authentic, and direct have been the guiding principles of Simple Coffee: the highest quality coffee available, locally sourced, freshly roasted, and served to people in an authentic, simple way. These principles guide everything we do, from the design of our shops and menus to the way we seek to develop and grow our personal and professional relationships.
Every business has a story and we feel like ours is just beginning. We are committed to ensuring that the heros of the Simple Coffee story are the farmers we buy our coffee from, our employees, and our customers who buy and drink our coffee every day.
